I have an arab cross with unknown lines and unknown parents. He's a rescue and is 2 years old approximately. When we took him on he was black and has steadily been getting lighter into tan colors like a typical bleaching out dark bay horse but I've had a few people say he will gray out. In desperate need of help for training my Lab/Pitbull mix.?

My fiance and I have had this dog since November of 2010. We rescued him from the pound. He was one of a litter of eight male puppies and we were given no information on the parents. He looks like a lab mostly but some people say he has some characteristics of a pitbull as well. My fiance and I DO NOT want to get rid of him, but we are at a loss of what else to do. This is the worst dog we have EVER had. And we have tried everything from cage training to the clicker to a shock collar to a sonic sound remote. Nothing works. If you reprimand him, he actually barks back at you. He doesn't listen AT ALL to anyone telling him to stay off the couch or not to eat food off the table or anything. He bites hard, and when I lay on the bed, he actually bites the back of my neck and my fiances neck. Spanking doesn't work, he still barks and bites back. My fiance and I definitely want children sometime but neither of us trust this dog enough to even let him near OTHER children. If we do get rid of him we can't even consider giving him to a family because he bites. We both love this dog to death and want it to work but he is destructive and has destroyed a leather couch we haven't even had for a month that we still need to make payments on. We live in an apartment, but he goes for daily walks and occasionally goes to the dog park or a friends back yard when we go over for barbeques. We put him through a training course at PetSmart and he failed MISERABLY. He was the barking trouble maker in the class. We got him the shock collar and he learned that he only gets shocked when he barks loudly so he started just moaning quietly enough so that it was still annoying but not shocking him. I am with him all morning and my fiance is with him all night. What can we do?!?!?!

Okay, I recently rescued a German Shepherd/Husky Mix out of a bad situation. He is gorgeous! Jet Black with white running up the insides of his legs/chest with ice blue eyes. He looks like a lanky wolf. I was pretty much set on the name Fluke but the more I call him by that name the more I don't like it. His original name was "Stampy" which is just awful! The only names I like that I can think of that rhymes with that is Riley and Rocky (both sorta over used). I would really love any ideas yall have. In 1981, my eight-year-old brother Andrew was kidnapped by a family acquaintance and held hostage for three weeks. During this time, he was routinely beaten and sexually abused by his captor. He was also burned with boiling water and forced to listen while his captor made crank calls to our family pretending to be the police, telling us that Andrew had been found. He was rescued after three weeks. It had taken that long to track him down because his captor had them moving around all the time. It's strange to me how a period of time as short as three weeks could destroy so many lives, and leave so many still broken after thirty years. Andrew's body recovered from the trauma, but his mind never healed. The Andrew that came back to us was not the Andrew we had previously known. Before the trauma, Andrew was very social and outgoing. We were only two years apart and always very close. I never had any other brothers or sisters. He was a sweet little boy with a good sense of humor, and, being an older sister, I teased him constantly. Not meanly, but in a playful way. Softball Player Help NEEDED?

I actually just quit my school team a couple of days ago. I have played softball for 12 years of my life, eight of those being travel. I've started on my travel team for 8 years straight. Then I tried out for varsity softball at my highschool. I barely made it and sat the bench my entire sophomore year. I figured it was since I was an underclassmen and tried out this year as a junior. I hit well in practice, worked so hard, and played maybe 10 innings total out of 25+ games. I was going to miss a sectional game for a travel tournament, so they told me if I did, I should just hand in my uniform. I told them I didn't do anything the whole season and they told me I did plenty. I literally was a pinch runner (I am not fast at all...) so I told them I was leaving. They told me I would have started if I had went to a game that I had missed (I was sick... and it was a scrimmage..) which I thought was bull. My dad was freaking that they gave me an ultimatum. I really love not having to work hard for no reward. There's some summer leagues that offer fundraising options for you to be able to play. We do hot dog sales, candy bar sales, etc to be able to afford travel. If you find a summer league you really like and the coach wants you, they'll work with you to help you afford it.

My two female cats wont get along?

i have had my female cat poppy since a kitten, she is 4 years old and 2 weeks ago i adopted another female from a rescue centre who is 3 years old. when i first bought my new cat smartie home i did not realise poppy was in the house and they got into a massive fight resulting in poppy weeing everywhere. i split then up for a while and used a rag with each ones scent so they could get used to it. then they accidently met up again and got into another fight. i have no put them in a room together, supervised and whilst they havent psyically attacked each other poppy has been very hostile hissing and growling, smartie doesnt do anything back. will poppy ever at least tolerate smartie, i understand they will probably never be friends but i'd like to be able to leave a room or let them both outside at the same time with the knowledge they will just ignore each other rather than tear each other to shreds.

Best Food For My Puppies?

I have a 4 month old rescued lab, Wesson, and a 4 month old GSD, Drake. Wesson is expected to be about 80 pounds judging by how fast he is gaining weight. Drake is expected to be about 140 when he is full grown. He gains about 8 pounds a week and rising. What is the best food to feed both of them so that each of them will get all the nutrition that they need. I don't want to have to feed them specialty food for their specific breed like they have at Petsmart because they share food and play musical bowls every meal time. Any suggestions? What do you feed your big dogs? I have had both of them since they were 6 (Wesson) and 8 (Drake) weeks and they have been on Iams Proactive Puppy but I want to make sure that is the best for them.

He looks like a jack russell mix very cute. but determining a dogs age is by the teeth and if there is a full mouth of em and some are loose or come loose soon he wont get very large. if he has few teeth and more are coming in he is young like 8 wks old. paw size will give you better size as adult. big paws on a puppy means big dog as adult and will mean the puppy is youger like 6 wks or less. smaller paws 8 to 10 weeks old. Hi there. I just want to mention before I start, I don't need to hear any lecturing about how bad smoking weed is. Yesterday, I had a job interview at the sub shop Jersey Mike's. At this interview, they told me that they do drug test their employees, and it's the final step to becoming an employee there. They told me they would call sometime this weekend to set up a second interview if they're still interested in hiring me. Today, I (foolishly) completely forgot about the impending drug testing, and decided to smoke a joint with friends. (It was split between four people.) I very rarely smoke, like once every few months rarely, so I'm not a frequent user by any means. I got called back by Jersey Mike's today and told that I have a second interview on Monday. I don't KNOW if I'm going to be drug tested at this interview, but I want to take precautions just in case. Can anyone attest to the effectiveness of diluting your urine as to make the THC content fall below detectable levels? I'm currently trying to drink a lot of cranberry juice, as it's a diuretic and makes you pee more often. Do you think this will work? (Any useful tips would be great). I would say you're doing things right. One of my little dogs was abused when only a puppy and was left shut in a garden shed for the first few months of her life - the nervousness and timid behavious has never left her, even eight years on, and we're always aware of how things can stress her out so easily, so we try not to use raised voices around her (everyone has to have the odd argument though!) and we do our utmost not to startle her. She is so very well behaved though, so we've never really had to deal with correcting bad behaviour, other than she is very possessive when it comes to her toys, and smacking or any other dominance towards her has not had to be an issue. I think the firm voice and sending to the basket/cushion is the best way forward. Funny how they are out to please you - so they dont like the firm voice, seen as being told off and in bad books.

4-5 week old kitten (female) peeing blood?

I rescued a (estimated) 4 week old female kitten. I have been giving it Hartz milk replacement and give it a tiny bit of Whiskas cat food twice a day (not the crunchy solid food but the wet solid food). We took it to the vet about a week ago and they gave it medicine to de-worm it but said that it was too young for shots. The kitten knows to use the litter box and does regularly. However every other day (or two) she will pee and it looks like gooey blood is coming out. When she gets this gooey blood coming out it isn't really a liquid and stays attached to her until I wipe it away. Also she starts peeing everywhere (except the litter box, which she knows to use) when the blood is there. After I wipe/pull away the blood (sometimes it doesn't come off if you just wipe) she attempts to pee and more comes out, and it practically blocks her from peeing. When this happens it normally lasts about an hour or two before it just returns to normal. Does anyone know whats going on with her? She hasn't been stepped on or injured in anyway so I don't really know whats happening.

Fellow employees would attest,as it was a running joke in our company for 3 years.3 years ago I was diagnosed with some very serious medical problems and 2 years ago I had surgery which was supposed to significantly limit my duties at work according to restrictions placed on me.My restrictions were broken daily,which I relize I was partly responsible for,and Im not afraid to say that my workload if anything increased instead of decreasing.While in turn my counterparts on 2nd shift decreased.Basically I was doing 99% of the work while he mostly slept at night or was never even there..My foreman informed me at least 15 times of how this employee was going to be fired for not doing his job and for even stealing from the company.In November,over the Thanksgiving weekend,I had worked feverishly to keep my jobsite afloat working all four days while other employees were off and our job was shut down.My counterpart also"worked" these four days and it was known by my foreman that he done absolutlely nothing the whole time he was there.The following Monday I had a near death experience as ,according to my Dr.,the over exertion from the previous 4 days had caused me to pass out,falling face first in 8" of water.A fellow employee saw it happen and pulled me out..After four days in the hospital I was informed by my employer that they no longer had anything for me at my jobsite to accomodate my restrictions.Im going to give you 1 guess at who has my job now..Yes your right my counterpart from second shift.With everyone I worked with in the entire company knowing that I was being "worked like a dog" and this guy was "getting away with murder" do I have any recourse against anyone be it the company,the foreman or the employee for me no longer having a job.I mean is it fair or is there a law against working one guy to death and then replacing him with the reason he was worked to death..

No matter what you should walk your dog once a day even if it is a lazy breed. Funny enough I think that a rottweiler (one of the breeds you actually like) may be a good choice. I had one for years and she way very calm and was a fantastic dog. The problem with Rottweilers is that you may want one that is still a puppy (between 6-8 months) because they can get bad habits and can be aggressive if you do not establish dominance and teach them that biting is not acceptable. They are incredibly stubborn dogs but are definitely worth all the training and work in the end.

Bioshock 2 Little Sisters, where are they?

So I just bought Bioshock 2 today (Pretty epic game so far) and I'm in the level where you gotta fight you way to the old black lady then either spare her or kill her. I found one sister no problem and collected my ADAMS but the other two (I believe it's 2 because when I finished the level and reached the train it pop'd up with a messaged warning me to go get the other 2 sisters to upgrade my powers) are missing. I opened the map and searched each level but there are no markings indicating where they are. I did find another Big Daddy and killed him but there was no little sister around, do they just pop up randomly? Ok, 8 years ago i rescued my dog from a local no kill rescue. She is very sweet and i also rescued another little girl who decided to escape and this rescue group found her so i had to go to the place where this woman keep all the dogs. My Little puppy at the time when i got there was stuck in a tiny chicken wire fence with like 7 other dogs and she was matted in poop and the lady told me im lucky shes not keeping my dog, well all the dogs are in nasty poop filled chicken wire "kennels" and they are chained up in these "kennels" and before i saw the deplorable conditions they were in i recommended her to people but she has gotten to the point where she wont let anyone adopt these dogs, I know she has the right to turn people down but its ridiculous and i don know what to do, these animals are suffering, and the local human society wont do anything. It's strange to me how a period of time as short as three weeks could destroy so many lives, and leave so many still broken after thirty years. Andrew's body recovered from the trauma, but his mind never healed. The Andrew that came back to us was not the Andrew we had previously known. Before the trauma, Andrew was very social and outgoing. We were only two years apart and always very close. I never had any other brothers or sisters. He was a sweet little boy with a good sense of humor, and, being an older sister, I teased him constantly. Not meanly, but in a playful way. He is the most ticklish person to ever walk planet Earth, and as a little kid he loved it when I tickled his feet. We wrestled and play-fought and just enjoyed being with each other. When he came back, everything changed. Andrew had always been close to me and my parents also, but after he came back he acted like he couldn't even stand the sight of us. I could never understand that. I thought he should be happy to be back with us, people who loved him. He told me when he was older that I was a stranger to him and that there was a gulf separating him from everyone else. He was resentful that other people hadn't been where he had been. When he first came back and started beng like that, I tried so hard to bring him back. I tickle-attacked him like I used to and even though he squirmed and laughed just the same, he didn't enjoy it at all. He wouldn't wrestle either, and didn't seem to want to be around me at all. He did well in school and never had issues with drugs and alcohol, he's been successful in life and has a wife and kids, but for the past thirty years you can tell that something in him is just gone. Something inside him died all those years ago and, despite this, I still hope so hard that I can bring him back. I still see him and our children play together, but that confidence is gone. He underwent counseling as a child and teen but it didn't help him and he doesn't see anyone anymore. I encourage him to see someone about his depression and the pain he still feels but he says it wouldn't make any difference. I'm sorry this post is so long but I just don't know what to do to help him. He's physically healthy and financially stable, but I want to be close to him again and my parents want the same. Is there anything I can do to bring him back, to make us all just a little closer?

Are there different subsets of depression? How can we treat a condition which we know nothing about?

I think there are different subsets of what is called "depression". Some are caused by a person's subconscious or even conscious; some forms are due to diseases; and some forms are due to a combination of the two and genetics and a problem with the rewards, pleasure pathway in the brain. It's my belief that all currently FDA approved medications act only as placebos, accept maybe for a select few individuals that may have experienced a traumatic episode in their lives. I believe, for people that have been suffering from symptoms of depression, and chronic fatigue, and felt "off" all their life their is a genetic problem. Also, the drugs available to treat such "biological" depression (though I don't think it can be considered depression if it is biological or medical) is woefully impotent. We have the FDA not approving any drugs that actually are shown to relieve "depression"- especially in the 40-50% of of depressive patients that get no relief from the current "placebo" antidepressants-because they act to quickly and thus are deemed "addicting". The only thing the FDA will improve, and the pharmaceutical companies will pursue, are long acting drugs, that really have no effect except for the placebo effect. As someone that fits somewhere in these categories, I can attest I have never felt any benefit from every category of antidepressant when on it for weeks! Nothing. I can not believe that these drugs are even approved. The pharmaceutical companies, research bio-psychiatrists and all scientists involved in mental health have no concrete clue as to how the current so called antidepressants work (which I believe they don't), because they have not been able to measure quantified regions of the brain consistent with depression and subsequent improvement as related to these medications. Psychiatrists are a joke for people with a biological problem causing the depression or total body and brain loss of certain characteristics. The current research on antidepressants, is all by accident, coincidental. A certain drug designed for something else, happens to cause a lift in mood for a small subset of patients. Therefore it must be an antidepressant!....The serotonin theory pushed by some, has no basis at all, with regard to antidepressants. To prove this, they are several drugs approved to treat depression that actually reduce serotonin! Personally, I'd rather take the chances of living as a so called addicted person, with feelings, emotions, and contribution to society than suffer decades due to our government rulings and propaganda by psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies.

I have a cat litter box question?

I help with a rescue and have 6 cats currently (All spayed and neutored). All the cats have some kind of special needs. I love every one of them dearly they are my four-legged kids LOL. Here is the question what automatic litter box would you say is best for this many cats and depending on what the needs are can have two or three more so let me know please. The six cats will never be able to be adopted so I will keep them unless a proper home is found and where I live that is very slim it would ever happen. Trying to decide if I should get another Cocktiel?

We unexpectedly rescued a cockatiel from a tree outside my work almost 2 years ago. We put ads out but no one claimed him so instead of taking him to a shelter we decided to keep him & named him Harley. Did alot of research when we got him because I've never had one before and since then we have become to love him to death. His previous owner must have been kind to him because he is mostly hand tamed and loves to be out of his cage, however, he doesn't get out of his cage as much as he used to due to our schedules and us already having 4 dogs so we need to have Harley in a separate room when we do take him out. My husband is at home most of the day so Harley does get at least an hour out a day and on the weekends I spend at least an hour a day with him. We also put him in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night so he is always in our sight and we also communicate with him throughout the day as much as we can. However, sometime I feel guilty that he is still not getting enough time out of his cage. When he is out, he doesn't really explore. He pretty much stays on our shoulders but lately he is not wanting to go back into his cage when its time. I do not know if he came from a home with another bird or not. Me and my husband have contemplated getting another one for about a year now but are torn. I have read that if you have 2 birds, then they will bond more with each other than with you. We certainly don't want that. However, if we did get another would it be acceptable to permanently keep them in separate cages. I really don't want to house them together. I don't mind the extra cleaning work, but what if we put their cages side by side and they seem to get along and then get frustrated because they can't have contact with each other. Would that stress them out. Any suggestions would be helpful.

What should I do about my stressed guinea pig?

So I posted this review of this local business online. The next day the owner calls me, threatening me. Calling me names, telling me "You finished this and I'm going to end it". When i told her to get lost after she told me to take down the review. This woman is whack. She owners a dog rescue, but she's not in it for the animals. Charging 400 dollars for a mutt. And then later she got the review removed. Somehow. I tried emailing the review company but nothing came about. When I posted there was 16 negative reviews and now there is nine. Later I found out that according to public domain, just a month ago she was charged with six counts of failure to keep a sanitary and humane kennel. Ideas on cause of swollen sheath in stud colt? I have a yearling stud colt that developed a swollen sheath...?

I rescued a yearling stud colt, well I BOUGHT him and his same-aged pasture-mate, two days ago. They are both very underfed, but very good natured. I let them settle for a day, then wormed them with Equimectrin, and they both have passed massive amounts of round worms. Today when I went out, I noticed the smaller of the two's sheath is very swollen. Not sure if all of these factors, or the stress of having a NORMAL life plays a part in this... just want some insight or ideas. I'm calling the vet regardless.

How can I sleep at night?

So I'm in 7th grade and I just can't sleep! I've had this problem for a few months now...I always read before bed and sleep with a small light on. If it makes a difference I do have a lot of fears like murderers and burglars etc. Sometimes I know it's because I wasn't stimulated enough but on some days (like today) I do exercise etc... Right now it's 1 am and I went swimming 5 hours straight today! I eat healthy and am in pretty good physical condition. One of the things that sometimes effects it is if anyone else in my house is awake. If my parents are awake then I can usually sleep. I don't take medicine except sometimes natural things like Rescue. If I'm up all night I'll usually watch videos on my laptop or something. But I really want to sleep already!! I have a rescue dog, Had it for nearly two years now. We ended up with it as originally we fostered it for a friend who runs a rescue centre till it could be sent to the RSPCA to be re-homed. The dog hates being confined anywhere, which is why we took it. It was being kept in a centre and was driving them crazy barking all the time. Well, the dog went to the rspca who kept it confined (they were supposed to be sending to a foster home) which made it play up and they said it cant be re-homed and must be put down. We told them we would take it back rather than put it down, and so have had it since. The dog is a bit of an escape artist, jumps high fences, slips his lead/collar/harness and runs amok in general. It dislikes other dos, HATES cats (we have some) and if it sees any animal smaller than itself turns into a bully.It escaped off its coller and chain last night (during the day it stays out back on a chain as it escapes otherwise) and ran to our neighbors farm (over the road) my hubby went after it, went into their yard and noticed a small kennel with kittens. He closed the door, but left it open a bit in case the mother came back. Our dog ran past, saw the kittens pulled them all out shook, 2 of them, then killed the 3rd. My hubby tried to get him off the kitten, but every-time he went near, the dog snapped at him. He eventually managed to get his lead on and dragged him off (too late for the poor kitten though). We are at our wits end now. We cant keep the dog indoors because of our cats plus young children, and the dogs hate being confined in a room. We cant confine this dog as it will escape (our other dog does not) and as we live in a farming community, if it goes near or harasses any other animals, it will probably end up shot. I think we should get shot asap, hubby wants to try and train the dog, but is busy on a farm and does not really have the time. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? Thank you

Last night I had a dream that I was sleeping upstairs by myself and I got a few text messages that were mean and evil, I thought, and may have came from the devil. I got scared so I went downstairs where my boyfriend, my mother, and a few other people (possibly my deceased great aunt that was like a second mother, but I can't remember) were all sleeping in a total of two beds. I got in between my boyfriend and someone that I can't remember. I told my mother that I was scared and I wanted to get saved but she said that I couldn't because I had to take care of my grandfather, Homer, who was in a bed in another room but I could see him. The thing is neither one of my grandfathers were named Homer and both died when I was really young so I can't really remember either one. My mother, father, and I are also the only ones that live in the same house so these extra people were very random. My father wasn't in the dream as far as I can remember. My mother was also in a different bed than I, my boyfriend, and someone else that I think may have been my great aunt whom I was very close to when she was alive. I'm 17, almost 18, and my boyfriend is 20. I have been very anxious about getting saved lately (Christian) and I thought maybe God was trying to send me a sign. I am very lost in what to do and I have an absence of feelings about getting saved and I don't know why and I've asked God to help me but I don't know of ay direct sure signs he has sent me. Could this be one? What does this dream mean?

What is the hardest to do in a game?

Perfect game hands down. The others are up there, but to have a clean sheet for 9 innings is nearly impossible. Since pitchers begin to tire as the pitch count goes up, since batters eventually pick up on pitchers and take advantage of their exhaustion in the later innings along with your defense perhaps botching a fly ball or a ground ball it makes it difficult to be perfect for 9 innings and 27 straight batters.

Cat runs laps in house! Help!?

I got a cat from a pound rescue last year and she has been fixed, and all of her immunizations, etc. She is completely healthy, maybe a little overweight now but that's it. She has lately begun to constantly run laps through my condo. I cannot get her to stop. She has injured all of us, because she runs over our feet and causes deep scratches. Its a compulsive thing that she does all day long and we are sick of it! What can be done? She has plenty of toys and scratching posts.

Would you be willing to let a person who cheats in school be senior class president?

So for 2012 the senior class president was running against me in the election and I lost honestly. That in itself i don't mind at all. But for years this person has been cheating on every single test we have in school and I know several people who can attest to this. I don't feel comfortable at all about letting such a fraudulent person being president. So should I write the school a letter or just ignore it? Trying to get noticed by recruiters and scouts (baseball)?

In my freshman year of high school, i started 3 games at first, 2 at third, 1 at left, 1 at right, 3 on the mound, and 8 catching. I am righty hitting and throwing and hit .487 this year with 4 homers and 14 RBIs using a wood bat. Pitching my ERA was 2.64 with 13 K's and 2 walks. I was wondering what recruiters and scouts look for (the only reason I use wood is I heard scouts like at).

Should I get a second kitten?

I rescued a little kitten and have absolutely fallen in love with him! I am not a cat person at all but now I definitely am. I've found that he's even way cheaper than my dog (Giant Schnauzer) on vet bills, food, etc. He is so full of energy like most kittens, I'm sure! He's only 5-6 weeks (he was abandoned) and is a crazy little guy. He's constantly playing and having a good time and has even warmed up to my dog. I am a student, however, and I will be gone in the fall for most of the day and unlike my dog, I can't send him to daycare during the day . Also, when I'm doing work he loves to climb all over me and walk all over my laptop and even sometimes accidentally turn it off. Listen, Kameron Loe is awful. But I don't really know what you want right now. Would you rather have Marcos Estrada? How about LaTroy Hawkins? Zack Braddock? These guys suck. The bullpen really really stinks. LaTroy Hawkins is terrible, and he'll return to his terrible form. It's inevitable. Maybe you want Tim Dillard? But still, there has to be a reason he's damn near 28 years old with only 20 career games pitched in. The Brewers did a fantastic job this past offseason bringing in guys that are going to help them contend this year, but they're going to need to go the whole way with this and trade whatever is left in their minor league system and get some help in that bullpen. Because that is going to doom them. They can't hold a lead.. Wolf has pitched so well this year and this is at least the 3rd game the pen has blown a W for him. Great Danes are amazing! They don't have long lives, but are wonderful. They love to lounge on the couch, easy to groom. Perfect dog in my opinion.

I was reminded of an incident involving a woman I worked with a few years ago. A group of us were in the break room and somehow the subject of Harry Potter came up. One woman vehemently attested she'd never let her daughter read the books since magic is evil. I spoke up at that point asking if fairy tales were acceptable. Of course they were. 6 month old Maltese still pees/poops inside, help!!?

He is walked daily but refuses to pee or poo on walks, and even if he is kept outside for a while he will hold it in till he gets inside and then pee/poo on the carpet.
